I am currently getting 84 mpg and anticipate better when I am just going on errands and not back and forth to work. I have come out of work with people admiring the car and then giving them all the info! I am averaging 75 to 80 mpg in my normal driving. The turning circle is rather wide considering the size of car, sometimes requiring a three point turn where a typical midsize car would be able to make it in one turn. This one is a great choice for my driving needs. I test drove other hybrids Prius, Volt, Sonata the C-Max out performed them with its performance.
I enjoy driving this car. The seats fold down which will give me added storage when I need it. This was above and beyond by best experience! Im a big guy, wide and tall, so I need head room, shoulder width, leg room and can't have my knees crunch on the dashboard. . Ford's first dedicated hybrid for North American consumers, the C-Max gasoline-electric hybrid hatchback, is turning out to be an acquired taste. I picked up a Ford certified with only 3800 miles a year ago.
If I need to go further, that is never a problem because it is a hybrid also. Comfortable, sporty, small but large. Charges in about 6 hrs. Though she admitted she was new to this profession, you couldn't tell- she seemed to care what I drove and why I needed what I needed- a very good listener. My driving routine is perfect for the plug-in ability of the C-Max Energi to travel 19 to 22 miles on electric only. Since it has the gasoline hybrid option, I'm never stranded and still can travel long distances without a charge.
Quality and roominess are excellent too. In hybrid mode, the engine can get rather loud when trying to accelerate up to highway speeds, especially with a full load. I love driving this car, love the savings on gas. I have purchased a lot of cars in my life from auction to neighbor to mechanic to dealer. This was when I was driving under 20 miles every day. There is a little less trunk space due to the battery, but I can put the back seats down if I need to. The cargo area is tiny as more than half the trunk space is taken up by the battery compared to a C-Max Hybrid.
I run my errands and then I'm back home to plug it in again for another run just on electric. State and Federal incentives made this car only slightly more expensive than the Prius overall and with a lot more features. But the Ford Energi is perfect for all the daily stuff. I get great gas mileage, average 41 mpg. Overall, though, it's a great car as long as you don't need a large cargo area. An excellent buy for the money! So happy with my new hybrid! No hesitation when gas engine switches on. Even paper grocery bags sit too tall to pull the cargo cover over.
Later on, we have taken the car on vacation, gone to Mexico and many long trips. My highest was 125 mpg at about 6k miles on the car. The storage spot for charger is too small for daily charge use. It is comfortable, quiet and very peppy. I'm installing 240 soon so charging will be even faster! My husband is tall and he has plenty of leg room in the back. Carin made it an easy, thorough and smooth transaction.
So many bells and whistles would suggest a cd as orientation. No pressure on the up-sells and great communication. It has lots of great features - love the auto lift gate, radio and comfortable seating. Sales are declining for the second straight year, lower gas prices have led the C-Max and other hybrids to lose their luster and Consumer Reports predicts the plug-in C-Max Energi's reliability to be worse than average. Short commutes like my daily routine uses only electric - I can go months between gasoline fill-ups.
It's got lots of head room, is very comfortable and quiet. Worth, Texas on Fri Jun 29 2018 This vehicle has surpassed my expectations and has many great qualities. Gas mileage is not as great as others but it rides better and will leave the others in the dust at stop lights. Great pick up, easy parking, speaker phone clear, sound system very nice. Even easier than the Voice Command System in my Mercedes.
That was a pleasant surprise, as that's about what the C-Max Hybrid is supposed to average. Other dealerships in town, Ive found smarmy, pushy or just flaked out. The C-Max also rides better, handles better, feels more responsive and more powerful, is quieter and more comfortable, and feels more substantial. I don't know why more people aren't driving them! The My Sync is actually very user friendly. This also means the load floor is not flat when the rear seat backs are folded down. . .
