I guess to start off this synopsis I should introduce myself so people know where I am coming from. But, I think that if you can endure the extreme violence and torture you should at least see it before you judge it. The movie was an extremely moving, emotional experience. It is meant to bring the what Christ did for our sins to the forefront. The cast was absolutely flawless, Jim Caviezel gave a powerful performance as Jesus, Maia Morgenstern as Mary brought me to tears, and even though Monica Bellucci spoke only a few lines, her performance and beauty astonished me. Huge credit must go to the cast for mastering the language, and employing it in such universally excellent performances. It had a middle-eastern feel to it, and was timeless and beautiful.
Betrayed by Judas Iscariot, the controversial Jesus--who has performed 'miracles' and has publicly announced that he is 'the Son of God'--is arrested and taken back within the city walls of Jerusalem. Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ, starring Jim Caviezel, is a retelling of the last hours of Jesus Christ. They were trying to make a good life for themselves down here for their peasly 80-90 years that they have down here. They were and are to a certain extension his people. Thus, Jesus is handed over to the Roman soldiers and is brutally flagellated.
One of the themes of the story emphasised by the film is the bond between Jesus and Mary. Gibson defends his incredibly graphic depiction by noting that the bible states Jesus was beaten beyond recognition. There is also an immensely poetic moment near the film's end, in which the camera tracks the progress of a single drop of rain from miles above Golgotha, which falls as Jesus breathes His last: a teardrop from Heaven. While watching this movie I forgot about everything else in the world. But others like myself will think that perhaps he is more portrayed as a schizophrenic and it was this delusions that led to him being executed. It was an immensely powerful reminder that for all He was the Son of God, Jesus was also the son of an ordinary woman, who He loved as any child loves its mother. Not so much the violence itself but more to do with there's not a lot to the story itself apart from the violence.
Just think is it possible for God to choose people who crusaded his son or is just a total fabrication on their part. In my own opinion, I appreciated how Mel Gibson directed this film. Trailers have shown too much story, reviews have jaded your perspective, or friends have refused to see it - movies get spoiled. The Passion of the Christ is a centuries old tradition. I looked at a couple of people, some were speachless and most were crying.
I hope that I writing this helps out anyone who has been aching to see Passion or anyone who already has seen view it in a better way. The story opens in the Garden of Olives where Jesus has gone to pray after the Last Supper. I simply didn't buy the fact that Pilate would be so nice. And for that Gibson deserves nothing but praise. Most aspects of the movie were perfect to me. Bloody and unrecognizable, he is brought back before Pilate who, once again, presents him to the thirsty crowd—assuming they will see that Jesus has been punished enough.
Right from the very start I appreciated how much work had gone in to the movie and at no point did I ever feel myself wishing that the film had been made in the English language. Director Mel Gibson received much criticism from critics and audiences for his explicit depiction of and focus on violence and on christs suffering, especially on the part of the jewish community. The flashbacks truly had an emotional impact on me. Mel Gibson deserves a lot of respect for making this film. Pilate listens to the accusations leveled at Jesus by the Pharisees.
Jew like him believes they are superior to all mankind and only them loves god and the reset of the world hates him and loves Satan. Although, it could never compare to the real happenings… It is still yet a heart wrenching movie that reaches out to all that could never imagine. It is true that the Jews were involved in the crucifixion of Christ, just as it's said in the bible for nearly two thousand years. Fine for 80-90 years then what? Synopsis A depiction of the last twelve hours in the life of Jesus of Nazareth, on the day of his crucifixion in Jerusalem. It serves as a powerful reminder of the reality of what happened: Jesus did not merely die for us, He was killed by us in the most terrible way imaginable.

Nothing anti-biblical was added, but inside a sense deep meaning was inserted through symbols and actions not actually recorded in the gospels. The art, the culture, and the magnificence - see The Passion of the Christ and you will have seen the fantastic. Jesus is the Son of God and their Messiah and He came to them to give them freedom from all their oppressors, the Romans at this point. Although, there are some people, like my father, who keep on saying that they are not ready to see this movie. As for the anti-semetism in the movie, I didn't find it was as bad as everyone is making it out to be.
